Alex's Film Blog

So as a group me Alex and Tariq filmed this past weekend. We Filmed at Flack rock trail. It took about 3 hours to hike up with having to stop and film. we got to the top and there where some people there so we had to be patient when trying to get audio. I think we did a great job with getting a lot of work done. I think we are done filming but you never know if we wanna add something. We have looked at a few of the clips so far but not all of them. For Audio we used a shotgun mic for the whole film. We planned to have a boom and even lav mics but it would have gotten out of hand trying to bring a lot of people to film for us since most shots had me Alex and Tariq in them. I still think the audio came of great for the film.

Reflection well the first day we had planned out to do another scene from a different movie but we couldn't get any of the gyms in the morning to film it. So we had to choose another scene. So we came up with doing the Napoleon Dynamite Dance Scene. As a group we all thought it would be fun to do. Then we where gonna use the PAC to shoot it cause the whole scene takes place in an auditorium. we ended up not getting the PAC so we used the CVTV room. Some successes we had where we made our actors dress as close as we could to there characters. We did it all without having to spend any money as well. some recommendations I would give is to try an shoot all your scenes at once. I our film you can notice some of the lighting looks a little off in some of the clips.

This past weekend me Alex and Tariq got together and went up to the film location. The film location is Colonel Denning State Park. The place is perfect location for our movie and it’s around 2-3 miles. Since it rained this past weekend we did not have a chance to really get any shots cause there was rain. We planned that the Film would be shot in clearer weather than what we had gotten when we arrived. Based on me being the sound designer I decided that the rain could be a very annoying factor when trying to get clear audio. As constint rain is very annoying in the background. Since we where in capable of filming we did some planning on some of the shots for the film. We are looking into getting together in the next couple of weeks to go up again, but we still are trying to find a day that works for everyone. We only need one or two days to get all the filming done I believe.
